It was noted that Call Out Loud (GB), placed fifth, anticipated the start and hit the gates, before jumping very awkwardly and shifting right, hampering The Great Wall (USA), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Call Out Loud (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Angel Palanas (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jonathan Fisher, and Esprit De Corps (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Lewis Edmunds.
Being a 7lb claimer, Fisher was offered accompaniment, but declined.
Fisher was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left towards the rail when insufficiently clear, causing Edmunds to take a brief check on Esprit De Corps (GB).
The performance of Angel Palanas (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.

Burke explained that the gelding was possibly unsuited by not being able to dominate on this occasion, which meant Angel Palanas (GB) was racing in the kickback.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that The Great Wall (USA), unplaced, bled from the nose.
