The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Espion Du Chenet (FR), trained by Louise G. Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Damut, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, placed first, Kilkeaskins First, ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan, placed fourth, Carnet De Stage, ridden by P.T. Enright, placed second and American Image, ridden by Miss A. O'Sullivan, placed third, where it appeared that Carnet De Stage had to check off heels. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found J. P. O'Sullivan in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered J. P. O'Sullivans clean record in this regard the Stewards severely cautioned him on this occasion.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards rated 0-109 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won.
