An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching Swinley Bottom involving Magic Wand (IRE), placed second, ridden by Ryan Moore, Willie John (GB), unplaced, ridden by Andrea Atzeni, Oasis Charm (GB), unplaced, ridden by Adam Kirby, Latrobe (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Donnacha O’Brien, Mountain Angel (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Oisin Murphy, Dolphin Vista (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Harry Bentley, and the winner, Addeybb (IRE), ridden by Daniel Tudhope.
The interference was found to be accidental as Magic Wand (IRE) had edged marginally right-handed taking Willie John (GB) momentarily off its intended line at the same time as Latrobe (IRE) lugged right-handed off the heels of Zorion (GB), causing Oasis Charm (GB) to be left short of room in between.
As a consequence of Oasis Charm (GB) being checked, Mountain Angel (IRE), which was running keenly in behind, made contact with the rail and lugged left-handed taking Dolphin Vista (IRE) off its intended line, which in turn caused Addeybb (IRE) to also be taken off its intended line.
The performance of Willie John (GB), which finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Roger Varian reported that the colt was unsuited by the Soft ground and would prefer a sounder surface.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Willie John (GB) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Harry Bentley, the rider of Dolphin Vista (IRE), unplaced, and Oisin Murphy, the rider of Mountain Angel (IRE), placed fifth, both reported that their mounts suffered interference approaching Swinley Bottom.
