An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately one furlong after the start involving Cuban Strike (GB), unplaced, ridden by Oliver Stammers, Kodebreaker (IRE), placed second, ridden by Tom Eaves, Faithless Insomnia (GB), unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris and Inexplicable (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mark Winn.
Stammers was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he had shifted left- handed towards the rail without being sufficiently clear and failed to leave comfortable racing room for three runners on his inside, which resulted in a free-running Kodebreaker (IRE) being intimidated off its intended line and caused Faithless Insomnia (GB) to be badly hampered for a sustained period and in turn make contact with Inexplicable (IRE), which became notably unbalanced for some distance on the rail.
Approaching one furlong out, Kodebreaker (IRE), placed second, lugged slightly right-handed, moving the winner, Urban Road (GB), off its intended line and resulted in the rider of Biplane (USA), placed third, taking a precautionary check on the stands rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved nor had it improved the placing of Kodebreaker (IRE).
Following the race, Alistair Rawlinson reported that Desert Miracle (GB), placed fifth, missed the break, Frederick Larson reported that Buraback (IRE), placed fourth, was denied a clear run for some distance approaching the 1 furlong marker and Robert Tart reported that Our Boy Sam (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run at the 1 furlong marker.
