The Stewards wished to interview James McAuley, trainer of Cardigan Street (USA), regarding the late arrival of the horse into the Parade Ring and other matters. As the trainer or an authorised representative was not present the Stewards heard evidence from Mr. G. Duff who saddled Mr. McAuley's two runners at today's meeting. Mr. Duff stated that he attended the meeting on his own which perhaps led to the horse being late into the parade ring. He stated that ordinarily Mr McAuley would be in attendance but on this occasion he could not attend due to an emergency. Evidence was further heard from IHRB Veterinary Officer, Ms. Nicola O'Connor, who stated that the runners were not washed down immediately after their respective races and were still blowing and sweating when returned to their boxes. They were also left unattended at times during the meeting. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards referred the matter to the Referrals Committee to consider the matter with regard to possible breaches of Rule 32 (ii), Rule 147(v), Rule 148 (i) and Regulation 9 (unattended horses)
