Shortly after the start, Congress (GB), unplaced, locked on and shifted left-handed despite the riders efforts, giving a bump to Lupset Flossy Pop (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the 2 furlong marker involving Malinheadsearovers (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Cam Hardie, Bungle Bay (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Joe Leavy and Lupset Flossy Pop (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Kevin Stott.
As a 7lb claiming apprentice, Leavy was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Connor Beasley, the rider of Coaxing (GB), placed fourth, was also present in the enquiry but found not to have been involved in the interference.
Stott was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed when insufficiently clear of Bungle Bay (IRE), carrying that runner off its intended racing line which in turn caused interference to Malinheadsearovers (IRE).
Following the race, Joe Leavy reported that Bungle Bay (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference approaching 2 furlongs out and Oisin Murphy reported that Flavius Titus (GB), placed fifth, was denied a clear run when approaching the line.
