Permission was given for Put The Kettle On (IRE) to be mounted in the chute; Notebook (GER) and Put The Kettle On (IRE) wore earplugs throughout the race.
Having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
The performance of Notebook (GER), which started favourite and finished last of the six finishers, beaten by 27 lengths, was considered.
Henry de Bromhead could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.

Following the race, P Townend reported that Cash Back (FR), which was pulled up, ran too freely.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Rouge Vif (FR), placed third, during routine testing shortly after the race, revealed the gelding lost its right-hind shoe.
For novice 5-y-o & upwards rated 120 or more. Horses who are not qualified for a rating in Great Britain, Ireland or France may also be entered. Such horses may be eligible providing the Handicapper is satisfied that the horse's racecourse performances up to and including the day prior to confirmation would merit a minimum rating of 120.
