The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. H. Hynes, that J.M. Sheridan, rider of No Speed Limit (FR), weighed in at 1.1 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from Mr. H. Hynes who stated that J.M
Sheridan had initially weighed in at 1.5 lbs overweighed before removing the breast girth which reduced his weight to 1.1 lbs overweight. J.M. Sheridan stated that he had a heavy jumping saddle and lead cloth but accepted the account as given by Mr. Hynes. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that J.M. Sheridan was in breach of Rule 231. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended J.M
Sheridan for one raceday.
