We're delighted and Andrew said he'd improve 10 or 15 lengths from the last day and he was a horse we always liked. Normally we'd have those type of horses sold but we wanted to prove a point with this lad; selling is the name of the game and if we can sell them, we sell them but if we don't we stay going. We said we'd come here and it is our home venue and Andrew was very sweet on him. He is a nice horse and jumped a lot better today. If he's not now sold we could look at some of the festival meetings but obviously Cheltenham is out of the question! Martin Hassett, trainer

The Stewards interviewed J.W. Kennedy, rider of Caltex (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended him for 2 racedays

Weights - 5-y-o 11st 11lb; 6-y-o and up 11st 12lb; Mares allowed 7lb
Allowances - Horses that have not won a *race allowed 8lb
