The Clerk of the Scales reported that Paul Mulrennan, the rider of Allegro Brillante (GB), trained by Jim Goldie, had weighed in at 9st 2lbs having weighed out at 9st 0lbs.
The rider, the trainer’s representative and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
The Stewards noted the explanation given by the representative of Goldie that he had changed the girths which Mulrennan had weighed out with as they didn’t fit the filly and had replaced them with a girth that, it transpired, had been heavier than the original girth.
Following the race, Ben Robinson reported that Grid Iron Maiden (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed throughout.
