D.J. Mullins, rider of Llancillo Lord trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung throughout, made a respiratory noise and didn't travel on the downhill run. The Stewards enquired into possible interference after the last hurdle involving Solar Heat, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, placed second and Little Folke (GB), ridden by D.N. Russell, placed first, where it appeared Solar Heat received a number of strikes from the whip of D.N. Russell. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards reversed the placings of the first two home. The result now reads; 1st Solar Heat 2nd Little Folke (GB) 3rd Russellstown 4th Kiera Royale 5th Naturally Blond 6th Llancillo Lord The Stewards further found D.N. Russell to be in breach of Rule 214 by riding improperly and suspended the rider for three racedays. The Stewards enquired into the conduct of D.N. Russell in the Stewards' Room at the Enquiry which followed the running of the second race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence the Stewards found D.N. Russell in breach of Rule 272 by verbally acting in a manner prejudicial to the proper conduct of horseracing and suspended him for 14 racedays. At the conclusion of the Enquiry, D.N. Russell indicated to the Stewards that he would be refusing to fulfill his further two riding engagements this afternoon. In light of his conduct and refusal to ride, the Stewards referred the matter to the CEO of The Turf Club. The Stewards subsequently allowed D.E. Mullins to ride Swantykay (Race 5) and R. Walsh to ride Not For You (Race 6). .
