Permission was given for Call To Duty (IRE) and Reforme (IRE) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference after the final hurdle, when the winner King Of The Road (IRE), ridden by Kielan Woods, interfered with In The Air (FR), placed second, ridden by Freddie Gordon.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of King Of The Road (IRE) as although the interference occurred over a period, it was minimal in nature and In The Air (FR) appeared to lose little momentum, with Gordon never having to ease in his riding.
The Stewards further considered that In The Air (FR) was always being held to be beaten a neck at the line, the same distance that he was behind King Of The Road (IRE) when jumping the last hurdle.
Woods was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had continued to use his whip in his right hand over a period, despite his mount showing a tendency to drift left-handed away from the whip, resulting in interference to In The Air (FR).
Following the race, Harry Cobden reported that Call To Duty (IRE), which was pulled up, hung left- handed throughout.
