The winner, Who Shot Jr (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wincanton on 9 November 2019 where the gelding finished seventh of eight, beaten by 36¼ lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Colin Tizzard could offer no explanation for Who Shot Jr (IRE)’s improved form other than the gelding had perhaps benefitted from the experience of its two previous runs over hurdles.
Who Shot Jr (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Harry Cobden reported that Dogon (GB), which started second favourite and finished unplaced, hung right-handed and Robert Dunne reported that Bon Calvados (FR), unplaced, stopped quickly.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Forever Des Long (FR), unplaced, lost its left hind shoe.
