She said he jumped great and that's her first winner for me. It was a weak enough race but coming down the road you couldn't be confident with a horse who wants good ground. Maybe it is so wet though that it is probably loose - they seemed to gallop away through it. We bought him in a claimer (for €20,000) and we were happy the whole way through but he never turned up at Haydock the last day. I had four or five juveniles and wanted to use him to get a line through the other ones but he ran terribly on the day. He will run through the summer and mix hurdling with the Flat. The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about one hundred and fifty yards from the finish involving Carslake (GB), ridden by Cian Cullinan, placed third, and Luminous Light (GB), ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed fourth, where it appeared that Carslake (GB) came off a straight racing line and made contact with Luminous Light (GB). Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, S.W. Flanagan stated that his mount missed the last hurdle badly but he maintained a straight racing line away from it and while Luminous Light (GB) did edge towards his own mount, he did not feel that there was much contact. Cian Cullinane stated that his mount drifted inwards after the final hurdle but he had corrected him and brought him back onto a straight racing line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
