He is a lovely horse, has more speed than a two-mile horse but we thought this time of year the bumpers are not over-strong and the test of stamina is not over-severe,. We're not surprised he won but he still had to do it and I've not won a bumper for a long time. I'm thrilled for the owners and I'd say there is a for-sale sign up now and we don't have a definite plan. The Stewards interviewed Mr D.G. Lavery, rider of Double Talkin Jive, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found Mr. D. G. Lavery in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g) and 10.3(i)
The stewards suspended MR. D. G. Lavery for three race days. Ms. Kate Horgan, acting steward, absented herself from this enquiry
