The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Born Ruthless, ridden by Amy Jo Hayes, placed sixth, Honketonk Angel, ridden by G.F. Carroll, unplaced, and Loveauntviv, ridden by D.P
McDonogh, unplaced, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. G.F.Carroll stated that he was maintaining his racing line when he received pressure from his outside and had to check. Amy Jo Hayes stated that the horse in front of her moved to the left and her mount darted right
D.P.McDonogh stated that his mount was tiring and hung a little left, but was satisfied that he was clear of any incident and had not contributed to it in any way. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Amy Jo Hayes, was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered her record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended her for one raceday
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Mrs John Harrington, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Queen Of Seduction, placed first, as compared with its recent form when unplaced at Gowran on its previous run. Ms. Kate Harrington, Authorised Representative for the trainer, reported that she could not account for the poor performance on her charges previous run despite making every effort to find an explanation. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report
