The Stewards enquired into an incident on the approach to and jumping the second last involving Gaelic Des Chastys (FR), ridden by J.B. Foley, placed third, Young Fitzy, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, placed first, She Is A Contender, ridden by S.D. Torrens, placed second and Swift Sonnet, ridden by Kevin A Murphy, unplaced, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. B. Foley stated that he suffered minor interference. D. J. O'Keeffe stated that he felt he had kept his racing line. S. D. Torrens stated that he felt there was room to go where he went. Kevin A. Murphy stated that he suffered some interference
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that S. D
Torrens was in breach of rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered S. D. Torrens' record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
