An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong when the winner, Dark Side Thunder (GB), ridden by Lewis Edmunds, interfered with Westmorian (GB), placed second, ridden by Sam James.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Dark Side Thunder (GB) as despite Westmorian (GB) receiving two light bumps, the gelding lost no momentum and was always being held by Dark Side Thunder (GB) to be beaten by a short head at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Dark Side Thunder (GB) shifted quickly right- handed from the whip before being corrected by Edmunds.
