The Stewards interviewed Joseph O'Brien, authorised representative of A.P. O'Brien, trainer, in relation to the running of Kangaroo Valley(USA) in this race on ground described as good to firm, good in places, having withdrawn from his previous engagement at Roscommon recently on ground described as good, good to firm at declaration time, which changed to good on raceday following slight rain. Mr O'Brien reported that Kangaroo Valley(USA) is unable to handle ground with loose underfoot conditions and felt the ground at Roscommon could be described as shifty and loose on top following rain.
