The Stewards enquired into two instances of possible interference in the straight involving Diodorus, ridden by R.L. Moore, placed fourth, Lightening Fast (GB), ridden by C.T. Keane, placed fifth and Tocco D'amore, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed first, where it appeared Lightening Fast(GB) ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings but found R.L. Moore in breach of Rule 214 by riding carelessly and suspended him for one race day. Mrs. T.K. Cooper, Acting Steward, absented herself from this enquiry. . C.T. Keane, rider of Lightening Fast (GB) trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount suffered interference in the straight. The Stewards received a report from Turf Club Security Officer, Kieran O'Connell, that protocols for the use of the stable yard by schoolers had not been observed for today's meeting, with regard to paperwork and horse passport details which are required from the racecourse and also the provision of a dedicated racecourse staff member to supervise the schoolers in the yard. Evidence was heard from Mr. O'Connell and Tom Ryan, Racecourse Manager. Mr. Ryan assured the Stewards that the protocols would be followed today and in the future. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards gave permission for today's schooling to proceed once the required paperwork was lodged with Turf Club Stableyard Security and a dedicated racecourse staff member was provided to supervise the day's schoolers as per agreed protocols. They also referred the matter to the CEO of The Turf Club for further investigation.
