The Stewards interviewed James Feane, authorised representative for John James Feane, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Blockstar Girl. Evidence was heard from the trainer's representative who stated that it was an oversight on his trainer's part as it was always intended that A.J. Farragher would ride this filly. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that John James Feane was in breach of R(3) by failing to nominate a rider by the deadline fixed for such nominations and through his representative fined him ?200 having taken his previous record into consideration. The Stewards allowed the request for A.J. Farragher to ride. Mr Edward Galvin, Acting Steward, did not attend this enquiry. The Stewards enquired into an incident about two furlongs out involving Doonard Prince, ridden by K.J. Leonard, placed second and Free To Roam, ridden by C.T. Keane, unplaced, where it appeared that Doonard Prince was lying in against Free To Roam. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action. The Stewards enquired into an incident over one furlong out involving Mr Michael, ridden by O.J. Orr, placed fourth, A Likely Story, ridden by L.F. Roche, unplaced and Tidal's Baby (GB), ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed sixth, where it appeared that Mr Michael ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action. The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the last 150 yards involving Doonard Prince, ridden by K.J. Leonard, placed second and Tidal's Baby (GB), ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed sixth, where it appeared that Tidal's Baby received some interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action. The Stewards interviewed R.P. Cleary, rider of Landline, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that R.P. Cleary was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and therefore suspended him for 2 racedays having taken his recent record into consideration.
