Manieree steps up on her promising debut
She is a nice filly. She ran very well first time out and got through the ground well. She should stay beyond a mile and I will start her off in a stakes race next year. The runner-up looks a decent horse so my one should do ok.
Vastonea surprises Prendergast
We didn't think he had done enough at home before this race but evidently he had. He is by Verglas and most of those horses prefer easy ground and win in France. He is probably a decent horse in the making.
Deire Na Sli stays on best for Bolger
She ran a bit freely with the blinkers on last time so we left them off today and it worked well.
Luisant brings joy to favourite backers
He may not be the best horse in training but he is surely the most consistent. I'm delighted for Fran. He has given him great rides during the campaign that he didn't get the rewards for. I told him today to ride him as if it was six furlongs as I was fairly sure he would stay seven. He is a fantastic horse to train.
Tiz The Shot makes it two Foxrock wins in a week
He is a hardy boy. We weren't going to run him today after his win on Monday but decided to once we heard the race was cutting up. He has all winter to get over the race now. He may go for Group 3 company next and could be a Hong Kong horse.
Berry rides treble as What A Charm sluices home
She's a grand filly. She hasn't had the ground all year as she loves it soft. I had her entered everywhere throughout the year but there was no sign of rain.
Barack proves too strong for the field
He won today with no thanks to the handicapper who never dropped him a pound all year. I feel the handicapper has been very unfair to him. He's a game horse but is only a pony. He handles the ground well. He should be back in training next year.
Flowers Of Spring blooms in the last
I'm delighted with her. She got a hefty rise for winning at Navan. She ran competitively next time out even with the rise so I was expecting a big run today. Chris (Hayes) gave her a great ride. We hope to progress with her next year.
