An enquiry was held to consider interference on the approach to the last fence involving the winner, Al Zaraqaan (GB), ridden by Jonathan England and Sir Tivo (FR), placed second, ridden by Robert Dunne.
Dunne was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as he rode his mount laterally left-handed towards Al Zaraqaan (GB) which was mounting a challenge down his inside, whilst having his left arm extended in the direction of Al Zaraqaan (GB), inconveniencing that runner by intimidating the gelding off its intended racing line when it ought to have been obvious to him that interference would occur.
