An enquiry was held following a report from the Veterinary Officer that an employee of Fergal O’Brien, the trainer of Hard As Nails (GB), discovered horse feed from a previous meeting in Box 57 in the Racecourse Stables.
The representative for the trainer, the Equine Welfare and Integrity Officer, the Stable Manager, the Veterinary Officer and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed.
The Equine Welfare and Integrity Officer was satisfied that the food present was normal horse feed and the Stewards being satisfied that Hard As Nails (GB) had received only normal food and water by mouth on the day of racing, allowed the gelding to run.
Hard As Nails (GB) was routine tested and a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
Following the race, Tom Buckley reported that My Rosa's Gold (GB), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
