It is horses for courses. We've had a hard week with him. He'd a bruised foot and was lame all week but my staff have done a great job, and the vet here was also a great help. He only came sound this morning, and if the race was yesterday he wouldn't have run. The lad cantered him two furlongs this morning and he was fine afterwards. This course probably suits him because he travels well, although the ground was a bit soft for him today. He was very game, and the kid (Donnacha O'Brien) gave him a great ride. He'll come back for the race he won at Leopardstown in September, and back here again next year hopefully. We love coming here as they do a great job and everyone is so friendly. B Ellison, trainer

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Alkasser, trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards which are EBF eligible and that, at entry, have run at least twice under any Rules of Racing and are eligible for a handicap rating (105 = 9st 12lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 12lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 105 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 12lb. Subsequently, the excess over 105 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 105 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap.)
