The Raceday Stewards interviewed Neve Bennett, rider of Complete Fiction, concerning her use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Neve Bennett accepted she was in breach of the regulation and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found Neve Bennett was in breach of R.10.3(g) (frequency) and in considering her record in this regard (second offence) they suspended her for four racedays
The Raceday Stewards interviewed S. McAteer, rider of Bang Po, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, in the presence of L.T. McAteer, trainer and master of the rider. S. McAteer stated was having his third ride, was racing alone on the far rail and thought he was in contention when this was not the case. He further apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted the riders explanation on this occasion having considered his inexperience and took no further action other than to remind S. McAteer to ride with more awareness in the future.
