The Stewards fined Gerard Keane, trainer, ?350 for lodging a passport in respect of Dandy Sue, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order
The Stewards enquired into the riding of Sweetest Taboo, ridden by C.J. MacRedmond, and trained by W
McCreery. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. C.J. MacRedmond stated that this was his fourth ride and that his instructions were to jump out handy and get his best possible placing. He was satisfied with his lead in the race, however he did not see other horses coming to him and he misjudged the finishing line . W
McCreery confirmed the instructions given to C.J. MacRedmond. He agreed that C.J. MacRedmond had misjudged the finishing line and could have finished second had he not stopped riding. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Sweetest Taboo was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that C.J. Mac Redmond was in breach of Rule 212 A in that he had stopped riding and misjudged the finishing line, missing out on second place as a result. Having considered his clean previous record in this regard and his inexperience, the Stewards suspended C.J. MacRedmond for 5 racedays and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee
The Stewards interviewed W. McCreery, trainer, following a complaint from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, Ms Inge D'Haese, that W. McCreery and his staff failed to cooperate immediately with a request to proceed to the Veterinary Unit for an examination of Sweetest Taboo in accordance with Rule 18(b)
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that when requested to do so he required all staff members to saddle a difficult horse which was about to run in a group race, and he apologised to Ms D' Haese
Evidence was also heard from Mr. Brendan O'Beara, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Security Officer, and Mr
E Dempsey, groom to W. McCreery. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that W
McCreery was in breach of Rule 272 in that his conduct and the conduct of his staff was unacceptable. Having considered his previous clean record in this regard and the apology offered, the Stewards cautioned W. McCreery on this occasion
The Stewards interviewed John James Feane, trainer, following a complaint from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, Ms Inge D'Haese, concerning the conduct of John James Feane towards her. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who accepted that he had raised his voice to Ms D' Haese and apologised for doing so. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that John James Feane was in breach of Rule 272 in that his conduct toward Ms D' Haese was unacceptable. Having considered his previous record in this regard and the apology offered, The Stewards issued John James Feane with a severe caution
John James Feane, trainer of Ahundrednotout (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge had a highly elevated heart rate when examined by a racecourse veterinary officer post race.
