R. Deegan, rider of Importateur (FR) trained by Alan McIntyre, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped very green
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms. A. O'Keeffe, that K.E Buckley, rider of Pana To Milan, had presented himself at scales at 2 lbs overweight when weighing out. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had tried very hard to lose weight to weigh out at the correct weight but was unable to do so. He added that in discussion with his Riders' Agent, he has now increased his minimum bottom weight
Michael Winters, trainer of Pana To Milan, stated that he had dealt directly with the riders agent. He requested that subject to the Stewards permission, he would be satisfied for K.E. Buckley to ride at the overweight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that K.E. Buckley was in breach of Rule 198(vii)(a) by presenting himself at scales at 2lbs overweight when such overweight had not been declared under Rule 195(i)
Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards fined K.E. Buckley €150 and allowed him to ride Pana To Milan
