G.F. Carroll, rider of Megarry, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount drifted left when he hit the front
N.M. Crosse, rider of Ocean Bliss, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Megarry, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed first, and Sweet Delta Dawn (USA), ridden by D. McMonagle, placed second, where it appeared Delta Dawn met with interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. McMonagle stated that he had to sit for a stride when the winner drifted left, but felt it was of little consequence. G.F. Carroll stated that his mount hung left in the closing stages despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that G.F. Carroll had taken reasonable steps to correct his mount who had drifted and therefore took no further action
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Aisling Oscar, ridden by M.M
Monaghan, and Punta Coco, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, where it appeared that interference may have occurred
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. A. Heffernan stated that he lost momentum and had to move left when Aisling Oscar drifted left. M. M. Monaghan stated that his mount drifted when he applied his whip and that he straightened it immediately. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that M.M. Monaghan had made reasonable efforts to correct his mount and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
