Michaels Choice (GB), drawn 4, jumped right-handed leaving the stalls making contact with Cent Flying (GB), drawn 5, and in doing so became unbalanced.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Red Alert (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chepstow on 26 August 2019 where the gelding finished last of six runners, beaten by 9 ¼ lengths.
Tony Carroll explained that Red Alert (GB) had appreciated a return to Brighton where he has run well previously, and coming from off a strong pace.
His explanation was noted; Red Alert (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Oisin Murphy reported that Michaels Choice (GB), placed dead-heat fifth, was slowly away.
