The Starter reported that Tayanna (GB) refused to enter stalls.
Patrick Leech was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
The winner, Bobby On The Beat (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wolverhampton on 27 November 2021, where the gelding finished eighth of eight beaten by 11 ¾ lengths, Phil McEntee’s explanation that the yard was back in form was noted.
Bobby On The Beat (IRE) was routine tested.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Old Port (IRE), ridden by Darragh Keenan and trained by David Evans, which was settled at the rear of the field before being asked for an effort approximately 3 furlongs out and stayed on strongly to finish third, beaten by 3 lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race.
The rider stated his instructions were to drop in from a wide draw as the gelding had run green on its previous two starts and to hold the horse together for as long as possible before asking for its final effort.
His explanation was noted.
Following the race, Joshua Bryan reported that Rainbow Sign (GB), unplaced, ran too free.
