The Stewards interviewed F.J. Hayes, rider of Shadows Return, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found F. J. Hayes in breach of Regulation 10.3.(i)(time to respond) and having considered his record, they cautioned him on this occasion
The Stewards interviewed J.B. Kane, rider of Lily Trotter (GB), trained by E. McNamara, after he appeared to strike his mount prior to the start of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that his mount was a very difficult ride and was very uncooperative. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted that his mount appeared to be a difficult ride and took no further action other than to advise J.B. Kane of his future responsibilities in this regard.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-109 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won. Riders - Confined to Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the allowance under Rule 52 (iii).
