He’s done that well for a five-year-old. He’s a horse that we like but he’s a baby. He jumped much sharper today and got a lovely ride off Andrew. He’s a handicapper and won’t be going any bright lights for a few years. I don’t think he’s mad about real heavy ground but I want him to learn. Down the line hopefully he could be a National type horse when he gets experience. (My son) Pat has been schooling him with Andrew. T J Taaffe, trainer

D.N. Russell, rider of Milsean trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a mistake at the third last fence which did not effect him but tired on the approach to the final fence and was pulled up

Weights - 4-y-o 10st 9lb; 5-y-o and up 11st 3lb
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase 4lb extra; Of two steeplechases 7lb extra; Horses which, at entry, have not run in two or more steeplechases and/or do not have a published steeplechase rating may enter and run at the discretion of the handicapper provided their steeplechase rating is 123 or less. Horses which, at entry, have not run in three or more hurdle races and/or do not have a published hurdle rating may enter and run at the discretion of the handicapper provided their hurdle rating is 123 or less. However hurdle ratings and performances will only be considered after steeplechase ratings and performances.
