I was worried about his fitness with the ground and stepping up to two and a half miles; he'd struggle to get home over that trip around Naas or Navan. He hasn't schooled over fences but I don't see any reason why he wouldn't jump fences. We'll wait until the very good horses have won over fences before sending him over fences after Christmas. The Stewards interviewed Mr J.W. O'Neill, rider of Rory O'Moore, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3.(f), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record cautioned him. E. J. O'Grady, trainer of Sailors Warn, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge made a respiratory noise in running. The Stewards requested a report from A.P. Heskin, rider of of Inis Meain (USA), who fell on the flat in this race. The rider reported that his mount stumbled and fell independently for no apparent reason. Having considered the report, the Stewards took no further action.
