Ballydungmanor proved no match for a decent type in Wheels Up at Clonmel last time but had nothing of the calibre in opposition here and ran out an easy winner.
Mick Darcy let his mount slide on into the lead four out and he soon settled matters on the run to the second last. He was just kept up to his work in the closing stages to post a comprehensive victory.
The well backed winner (7/4 to 11/8) acts well in the ground and a novice at some of the smaller tracks is the target now.
Gotcha Covered proved best of the rest. He was ridden in fourth three out and stayed on to second before the last, although never a threat.
A bumper winner in 2006 this was a step up on recent efforts but he needs to find another weak contest to have a chance of getting back to winning ways.
Mantra Leader and Golden Hare moved both moved into contention rounding the turn but had no answer when the winner quickened before the second last. They kept on at the one pace.
Lion Na Bernai improved to lead before the fourth last but was under pressure after a mistake there and faded turning in. With Affection had led after five out but was weakening quickly when unseating at the next.
Morning favourite Vintox (lame) was a non-runner.
