An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the final ½ furlong when the winner, Bright Eyed Eagle (IRE), ridden by Oisin Murphy, interfered with Glenties (USA), placed second, ridden by Joe Fanning.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Bright Eyed Eagle (IRE)’s placing as at the time of the interference the colt appeared to be on top and going away from Glenties (USA), with 2 ¾ lengths between them at the line.
Murphy was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction, causing Fanning to take a check for several strides.
