Permission was given for Private Signal (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held following a report from the Starter and the Veterinary Surgeon that James Doyle, had used inappropriate language following the withdrawal of his mount, Aswan (IRE).
The Starter, the Veterinary Surgeon and the rider were interviewed and having heard their evidence, Doyle was found guilty of improper conduct and suspended for 2 days.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Austrian Theory (IRE), ridden by Joe Fanning; Private Signal (GB), placed second, ridden by William Buick and Sir Lelo (GB), placed third, ridden by Jane Elliott.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Austrian Theory (IRE)’s placing as the initial interference occurred one furlong out and the Stewards found that Private Signal (GB) had contributed to the second piece of interference on the run to line by edging right towards Austrian Theory (IRE).
Concerning the initial incident, the Stewards deemed that the ground and momentum lost by Private Signal (GB) was less than the official winning distance of a neck.
Fanning was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his horse to drift left-handed without timely or sufficient correction, causing Elliott to take a check aboard Sir Lelo (GB) and for Private Signal (GB) to be taken off its intended line.
Further to this, on the run to the line there was interference between Private Signal (GB) and Austrian Theory (IRE), but this was found to be accidental as Private Signal (GB) shifted right-handed at the same time that Austrian Theory (IRE) had hung left-handed.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Dynamic Talent (GB), unplaced, bled from the nose.
