The Stewards requested a report from David Barron (in GB), trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of New Bidder (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that today's going on the easy side of good was perhaps ideal. He also felt his horse was given a good ride having been sheltered from the head wind at the back of the field. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the contents of the report.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards which are EBF eligible and that, at entry, have run at least twice under any Rules of Racing and are eligible for a handicap rating (105 = 9st 12lb) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 12lb Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won.
