K.J. Manning, rider of Leitir Mor, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount raced reluctantly on leaving the stalls. The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Penitent (GB), ridden by D. Tudhope, unplaced, One Spirit, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed third, Pearl Of Africa, ridden by F. Lynch, placed fifth and Pop Art, ridden by F.M. Berry, placed fourth, where it appeared that Pearl Of Africia ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.
