Seamus Cronin, the rider of Little Boy Blue (GB), placed sixth, beaten half a length for fifth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice Cronin was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry, but declined.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Cronin explained that he had taken a precautionary check off the heels of the rapidly weakening Global Academy (IRE) to avoid clipping heels; his explanation was noted.
Following the race, Robert Winston reported that Doc Sportello (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
