The Veterinary Officer reported that the representative of Brian Ellison had presented an incorrect horse at the racecourse stables for identification in place of Sworn To Be Free (IRE), which was declared to run in Race 6, the 4.
52PM race.
Brian Ellison was interviewed via telephone.
Having heard his evidence, the Stewards referred the matter to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, and ordered that Sworn To Be Free (IRE) be withdrawn.
Welsh Charger (IRE) unseated Jay Tidball on the way to the start, before cantering loose for a short time resulting in the race being late off.
Having been checked over by the Doctor and Veterinary Surgeon at the start, both horse and jockey were deemed fit to race.

O’Brien, the rider of the winner, Bertie B (GB), was suspended for 2 days, on dates to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, for using his whip above the permitted level from 1 ½ furlongs out.
Finn Lambert, the rider of The Kniphand (FR) placed second, was suspended for 13 days for using his whip above the permitted level from 2 furlongs out.
Being a 7lb claimer, Lambert was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
