An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving All The Glory (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Jonjo O’Neill Jr and Touchy Feely (GB), placed second, ridden by Mr Sam Waley-Cohen.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Touchy Feely (GB)’s placing as the mare had come from behind All The Glory (GB) and was always going away in the closing stages to finish second, a length and a half and a head in front of All The Glory (GB).
Mr Waley- Cohen was suspended for 5 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed, whilst using the whip in his right-hand for a significant distance without timely or sufficient correction.
Jonjo O’Neill Jr, the rider of All The Glory (GB), placed fourth, beaten a head for third, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, the Stewards were satisfied that Notnowlinda (IRE) was fractionally in front of All The Glory (GB) before O’Neill stopped riding his mount at the line.
