He was due to go up 10lb but we had to roll the dice,. Gary said going further would suit him better. It is great to get that win, he is a progressive horse but has had two sinus operations and the clinic in Fethard were very good. With those sinus operations you have to give them a lot of time to clear up. He had his little problems but has got over them and hopefully can come back here next year. This is a wonderful occasion to have another winner in Galway and is great for Tom (Egan) and all the boys. Joseph G Murphy, trainer
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after turning into the straight involving Herculaneum, ridden by Sorcha Woods, placed third, Razdan, ridden by Adam Caffrey, placed fourth, and Oriole (GB), ridden by S. Foley, placed sixth, where it appeared Oriole ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Sorcha Woods stated she was holding her racing line. Adam Caffrey stated his mount was leaning in on top of Oriole from a long way out and he was trying his best to correct him. S. Foley stated that he got tight for room for a few strides. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Adam Caffrey had done all he could to avoid causing the incident and therefore took no further action
Adam Caffrey, rider of Razdan, trained by Christopher David Timmons, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged right around the bend
S. Foley, rider of Oriole (GB), trained by Ian Patrick Donoghue, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was tight for room in the straight.
