This race was started by a tape start.
DEPUTY CONSORT is a decent sort and put in a good display to win on his seasonal debut. The gelding was a decent hurdler for Michael O'Brien and should win more races.
ENTER THE INDIAN was an unlucky loser and was probably given too much to do. The gelding made good headway on the outer before the straight but was short of room early in the straight and was soon switched. He did stay on strongly inside the final furlong and similar handicaps look well within his ability.
KING OF PRUSSIA is a winning hurdler and looks nicely handicapped on the Flat. He should pay his way in similar races during the summer while the versatile CLASSIC CROCO, formerly a winner of the Spanish Derby, should also prove competitive in a similar event next time out.
OUR REFUSAL put in a career best effort to take fifth and may win a handicap on this evidence.
BROUGHTONS FOLLY again lost ground at the start and is not to be trusted with hard cash.
Non-Runners were the three reserves.
An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards rated 50-70 Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won
