The Stewards enquired into possible interference between the second last and the final hurdle involving Shanacoole, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, placed first and Emma Prada, ridden by Mr J.L. Scallan, placed second
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. J.L. Scallen stated that he did not receive any interference approaching the final hurdle. D.J. O' Keeffe stated that he took all steps to straighten his mount and that he did not hear a shout from Mr. J.L. Scallen. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that no alteration to the Judge's placings was warranted and they therefore took no further action.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-102 Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
