Inside the final furlong, Stripzee (GB), placed second, lugged right taking Silks Dream (IRE), placed third, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Stripzee (GB).
Daniel Muscutt, the rider of Silks Dream (IRE), placed third, was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from 2 furlongs out.
Following the race, George Boughey’s representative reported that Uncs (IRE), which started favourite and finished fourth, was unsuited by the ground and would prefer a quicker surface.
The ground was officially described as Good to Firm (Good in Places), and was subsequently changed after Race 1 to Good.
