An enquiry was held following a report from the Veterinary Officer into the behaviour of trainer Fred Watson in the Stable Yard.
Fred Watson, and the Veterinary Officer were interviewed.
Having heard their evidence, Watson was found guilty of Improper Conduct and fined £250, in that he had an altercation with the Veterinary Officer, using both inappropriate language and speaking in an aggressive manner.
Sean Davis, the rider of the winner, Perfect Soldier (IRE), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from approximately 2 furlongs out.
Following the race, Harrison Shaw reported that Joyful Star (GB), unplaced, weakened quickly inside the final 2 furlongs; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding revealed Joyful Star (GB) finished with an irregular heartbeat and was slightly lame on its right-fore.
