See also » Royal-Rhythm-ploughs-through-testing-ground John (Leckey) owns a couple horses with me and we've been lucky. James gave him a fantastic ride because they went way too fast. They jumped off, went too quick and then they started racing too early. He kept taking him back. If I had some of the other horses in the race I'd be furious. He won too well which means I'm right, they went too fast and he kept taking him back and he was the only one that finished. He has threatened to win a couple of handicap hurdles and has been placed in a heap of them. He loves the muck and he's always looked like he'd win a race on soft ground. He got a summer break and was fresh and well and the race fell apart. Hopefully because of his winning margin he doesn't get murdered (by the handicapper) but it's great to get the winner. The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final one hundred and fifty yards involving A Dublin Job, ridden by E. Walsh, placed second and Mahler Appeal, ridden by M.J.M O'Sullivan, placed third, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, M.J.M. O'Sullivan stated that he was challenging A Dublin Job when that animal began to lug left about one hundred yards from the finish and carried his own mount across towards the rails which, in his opinion, cost him second place. E. Walsh stated that his mount was idling and wearing blinkers for the first time. He added that in the closing stages that his mount was tired and drifting towards the parade ring. He admitted that he was not aware of his challenger on his near side. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that A Dublin Job had caused interference to Mahler Appeal and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position. As a consequence, the Stewards reversed the placings of the A Dublin Job and Mahler Appeal and amended the result to read as follows: Amended Result: First: Royal Rhythm Second: Mahler Appeal Third: A Dublin Job Fourth: Well Polly Fifth: Veneziano Springs(Fr) Sixth: Fainche. Furthermore, the Stewards were of the opinion that E. Walsh was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard they cautioned E. Walsh on this occasion
