An enquiry was held into the malfunction of the stalls for the fourth race, when the stalls failed to open at the first attempt.
The Starter and the Stalls Team Leader were interviewed.
The Starter reported that on the pre-race check the stalls had operated correctly, but when he pressed the button to start the race the stalls did not open.
On resetting the start mechanism and pressing the button a second time the stalls did open.
His explanation that, with the persistent rain, there had possibly been a short circuit in the mechanism, which was replaced for the subsequent races was noted.
Following the race, Noel Garbutt reported that Misty Breese (IRE), placed sixth, was slowly away and Harrison Shaw reported that Just Heather (IRE), placed seventh, hung right.
