Approaching the final furlong, when running greenly, the winner, Silent Monarch (IRE) edged right- handed giving a bump to Jupiter And Mars (GB), placed second, as a result of the bump Silent Monarch (IRE) became unbalanced and shifted further right-handed which further inconvenienced Jupiter And Mars (GB).
It was further noted that at the ½ furlong marker, Silent Monarch (IRE), when again running greenly edged marginally right-handed placing Jupiter And Mars (GB), awkwardly on its heels and caused the rider to briefly ease his mount but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Silent Monarch (IRE).
